SERENADE PHOTOGRAPHY 

Good choices in clothing is one of the key elements of a great photo session. For a group session clothing should be coordinated, simple and timeless (although not exactly the same outfit for all family members). I recommend something simple and classic, in neutral pastel colours, for example jeans and white T-shirt, cream dress, simple cuts.
Large, busy prints, checked patterns and geometric designs don't photograph well. Avoid logos, numbers, drawings, cartoon characters and bright colours.
Please feel free to bring a couple of sets of clothes to allow mixing and matching for best results.
For maternity sessions I can provide some outfits (for example dresses, skirts, flowery hairbands), if you'd like to bring your own clothes, suggestions include: maxi dress, long skirt, tube top, denim jeans.
For newborn sessions I always recommend white sleeveless tops and white underwear for the mum. If they agree, I often photograph parents with the top off to show the connection with the baby by skin to skin contact.

It's a great idea to plan the outfits a few days before the session. Lay them out on a bed, step back and look. Once you are happy with your choices, make sure they are clean and wrinkle-free, then set them aside for your session. Clients are also encouraged to include their own props if you have booked an outdoor session. Excellent examples are: A musical instrument, sports equipment, a book and reading glasses, or maybe a family pet.
